Before I got saved, there were several question that filled my mind about the scriptural texts like: Does God really exist? Does heaven exist? Is there life after death as the scripture states? Among other numerous questions that each of you has ever or is even still asking oneself.
Expectedly, no one was there to answer such questions, even my curiosity to ask did not bear fruits. One day when I was reading a bible story about Thomas after the resurrection of Jesus I was struck by question that Jesus asked Thomas which I felt like He as asking
John 20:27,29
[27]Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.
[29]Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. Synchronously, The words in the Book of John 3:16-18 came to my mind ‘and whoever believed in the son of God will not be judged but whoever does not believe is already judged for he has not believed inn the only son of God. John 1:12 told me ‘and to all who believed they were made the children of God.
I heard a lot of Believe! Believe! Believe!-You don’t need to see. In my mind it was like somebody was shouting that word to me so loudly that I felt like I must say ‘I believe’ to bring the conflict to an end .I shouted ‘I BELIEVE’
Mysteriously the battle that was within me came to an end. I realized I must ask God to forgive me for doubting Him and asking questions that emanated from my foolishness. I remembered David saying the fools have said there is no God and they have been destroyed by their folly (Psalms 53:1)
MYSTERY
There was a mystery in believing God that I experienced that day .I called a mystery because I was a new experience .All the scriptures that I used to read before and could not comprehend began to speak to me in a different manner. I began to see everything as real. Bible stories became real. My Knowledge of God began to take a different dimension till when I publicly gave my life to Jesus as a testimony.
I have this today to say that the Kingdom of God is likened to the Mustard Seed
- The Good seed of the gospel, when grown in a believing heart grows forth to yield wonderful effects of both internal regeneration and external regeneration. Believe and never belittle the small beginning of faith.
- The Holy Spirit is responsible for the growth of the Kingdom. Just believe. The spirit of God by the word makes a change to our hearts to a level we cannot account for or imagine. Just believe.
- Great is the mystery of godliness to those who believe. It is impossible to experience the power of godliness outside godliness as no seed grows that has never been sown. Unless a seed is sown, dies there shall never be life. ‘If an egg is broken by outside force, life ends. If broken by inside force life begins….’-By Jim Kwik
- It takes a step of believe for us to experience the Kingdom of God. We need to just believe
